Periodically, OC runs a seminar for parents, teachers and interested adults on the "21st Century Child". This is the base methodology which is used in our English-immersion classroom.

We live in an astonishing world. What do we really want for our children? How do we bring them up to face an even more bewildering tomorrow? We cannot use the same methods of parenting and teaching as those that have worked for generations, because modern life has moved into new territories.
Children are smarter now at birth than we were as teenagers. They are having international experiences early, – which gives them the cutting edge in intelligent exposure to the global village in which we live. They are spiritually advanced.
Our job is to teach them HOW to think and not WHAT to think. We want them to make good choices, to become empowered, to feel good about themselves. We need to support them emotionally and physically, because they are more alone than before and because they have inherited an ailing world.
During this seminar, which takes place on a weekend in the autumn and spring, (in both English and Russian) we take 4-6 hours to discuss how we can begin this empowerment in the Early Years.
Within the time framework, there is ample opportunity for listening, for asking questions, for suggesting, for role-playing, for collecting reading material, for sharing tea and snacks.
Together, we move a step forward in understanding how we can enhance the global environment into which the children of today are born, with tools by which they can grow in holistic health, with courage and a true sense of self-worth, which all contribute to a joy of the moment and learning for life.
